Why keep this front & center?
 
I'm still proud of this project because The Humor Scholarship enabled me to finish my senior year of college without taking out another loan. The scholarship's purpose was to celebrate humor as a powerful tool for encouraging community amidst diversity on campus.
 
My sincerest gratitude to the family of John Beckman for funding this scholarship at the University of Portland. And a very special thanks to Brian Doyle, former Editor in Chief & Writer of Portland Magazine, for believing in me.
 
I'll never forget what you did for me Brian, rest in peace.
